States With Highest Auto and Motorcycle Theft Rates Watch List News (press release)
Auto thefts in the United States have been declining since 2007. Carjacking, vandalism of vehicles and thefts
have all be going down. This has created an average drop in car insurance premiums of about $159 per year
over 2 -3 years for most of the insured. The top five states for auto theft are California, Texas, Florida, Georgia
and Arizona. The most commonly stolen model is the Honda Civic. The states with the lowest rates of car theft
are Vermont, Wyoming, South Dakota, Maine and New Hampshire. With lower car theft and carjacking rates,
