Allstate seeks to expand brand in Texas Bizjournals.com
Allstate Insurance Co. plans to recruit as many as 187 agency owners in Texas this year, including 45 from Central Texas.
Last year, 122 new agents opened Allstate agencies throughout the state. This year, Allstate hopes to surpass that goal.
Allstate is searching for 45 agency owners in the Dallas-Fort Worth area; 45 in Houston; 45 in the San Antonio-Austin-Waco-Killeen area; 30 in East Texas; and 22 in West Texas. Candidates need at least $50,000 in liquid capital to invest in an agency start-up.
“We see a significant opportunity in the current economy to attract mid-career, mid-level managers to own and operate their own business and represent Allstate in Texas,” says Allstate’s Texas recruiting director Todd Martin. “We’re working with business brokers and through our own recruiters to find professionals with financial or sales backgrounds, who are dedicated to customer service.”
Allstate is interesting in expanding its brand in Texas because it is the fastest-growing state in the country. Allstate agents will sell auto, boat, recreational vehicle and motorcycle insurance. Allstate already is Texas’ second-largest auto insurer with nearly 1.7 million covered cars and trucks.
