Massachusett's bikers recieving motorcycle insurance refunds Clutch and Chrome
Nearly a third of the refunds won for riders by Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley for allegedly overcharged motorcycle insurance policies have been mailed out.
The Attorney General announced that approximately 3 of the $11 million dollars in a January agreement settlement have been paid so far. According to the settlement, holders of motorcycle insurance policies with Safety Insurance Group, Liberty Mutual Insurance Company or Quincy Mutual Fire Insurance Company should see not refunds from being overcharged no later than August 2010, but also enjoy reduced premiums.
The three million dollars sent out so far has come from Liberty Mutual Insurance company.
"We are pleased that Liberty Mutual cooperated with our investigation and that policyholders are now receiving their refunds, particularly in this economy when every penny counts," Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley said, "We will continue to work to achieve more transparency in the auto insurance industry. We encourage consumers with questions about their policies to contact our Insurance & Financial Services Division."
