Inside look at blue-chipper Wayne Lyons' recruiting questionnaire SI.com
Football recruit Wayne Lyons has sent the following questionnaire to coaches interested in signing him. Lyons, from Dillard High in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and his mother, Gwen Bush , decided to send questions to coaches after learning from Wisconsin assistant Charlie Partridge that 2010 Badgers signee James White (from Fort Lauderdale's St. Thomas Aquinas High) had sent questions to coaches recruiting him. Lyons and Bush took some of White's questions, added some they had seen on a recruiting service Web site and then sat down and wrote their own questions for coaches. Bush said the questionnaire will make it easier for Lyons to narrow down his list because he won't have to rely on the memory of conversations with coaches. When in doubt, he can go to the questionnaire.
Bush said most coaches have been happy to fill out the questionnaire. Some have sent back responses in excess of 15 pages. That's fine with Lyons, who hopes to be the valedictorian of his graduating class . The more information, the better.
